Thread: Behaviour within our community, and people's personal privacy.
core Head of Anti-Cheat, Retired Head Administrator

We feel it’s important to preface this statement with this; the message we are trying to convey here is more important than the punishments that are going to be handed out. While most think this type of situation is cut and dry, where certain offenders need to be punished, it is not that simple. We, along with this entire community, will not tolerate the use, sharing or distribution of a person or peoples’ personal information, in any form, over any platform or medium.

It pains us that this even needs to be discussed as this should already be second nature or common sense, but the entire Competitive TF2 community was built on a drive to play the game in a competitive manner. We have never had the level of support from it’s developer that other games have, yet we have managed so much together, and we feel it is important to remember that this community is only as good as it’s members. Without the right attitude, support and of course, our community our league along with many others would not have been able to make it as far as we have.

If our community, regardless of league or region, is to live up to and continue what we have accomplished, then we need to do that with the compassion, drive and love of the game that built it in the first place. It is on that note that we as a league declare this now; we will no longer tolerate the abuse of others, poor behaviour and unneeded problem makers. We are more than happy to use our new Infraction System, along with all the abilities, trust and power invested in us to be apart of a larger movement to keep this game’s community to the same compassionate standard it has always been.

For those affected by the; misuse, abuse, sharing or distribution of personal images, names and other private information, we have but only one thing we can say. The Respawn League would like to apologize on behalf of those who have wronged, as a league and as friends, for allowing this to continue as long as it has. Our intention was not to be too reactive in this situation and help bring other organizations into the fold to present a unified action, be it through statements or even punishments. To reiterate our view, we feel the message is more important than the punishments, however we would like to recognize and apologize for what could be viewed as inaction in this situation.

The user mentioned above has been found asking multiple community members for Illicit and/or Illegal Content, Disrespecting Administrators, Poor Match Organization and borderline Match Fixing. This ban excludes this user from all Respawn League services, Community and Competitive.

Permanent League Ban, Permanent Community Ban.

We want to take this opportunity to reaffirm where we stand on the Respawn League and other platforms. We will not allow members of our community to be harassed and patronized for illicit or illegal content in any form, over any medium.

Attempting to circumvent our Bans / Infraction System is not something we encourage. Should ANY teams or users be found trying to harbor this user on a Roster, via Alternate Accounts or through associated platforms, we will mirror the punishments of this ban onto you.

EDIT
Ban has been extended due to the leaking and use of a personal image in a public manner (via Steam Profile).

Thread: Match Casting
core Head of Anti-Cheat, Retired Head Administrator

We do not allow any unapproved casting organizations to cover Grand Finals, Bronze Matches or Semi Finals unless explicit permission is given.

How to cover a match:

  1. Seek approval from both Team's Captains, screenshot chat logs with them, and come to an Administrator.
  2. Wait for approval from the Administrator you contacted. If you do not get approval, you are ineligible to cover the match, and will not discuss it further outside of your organization or entity.
  3. If you do get approval from both team's Captains, and a Respawn League Administrator, then you are free to start setting up, scheduling and announcing. We provide a channel and some resources that may help with this in our Public Discord.

Things to note:

  • Please be aware that Producers / Observers are allowed to ask for RCON to setup sv_logsecret for their Cheat Feed, however if you do not feel comfortable with them doing it, you can ask them to pass you the command and you can send the console output back.
  • Organizations, Entities, Producers / Observers and Casters / Talent are not allowed to dictate what server a match is played on, the time or day of the match, or the players / maps involved. This is declared as Match Fixing / Interfering with a Match, and will be punishable with a permanent league ban. You have been warned.

Thread: How we handle behaviour and bigotry outside of our platforms.

In light of the recent removal of players from Competitive Play for suggested poor behaviour, racism, hate speech, sexual or orientation shaming and any further bias or bigotry, we feel it is important to state where we stand in regards to this. Please take the time to read the linked page below:

Thread: Rosters (Player Pools & Active Rosters)
core Head of Anti-Cheat, Retired Head Administrator

Think of them like this; The Player Pool is a seat of people that could play Soccer, but aren't because there are people who were chosen to be on the normal lineup. Active Roster and Player Pools work the same way. Basically like most sports, you have to swap out these players before being able to use them in the game. Below is a more accurate description:

Player Pool - The Player Pool has a much higher slot limit than the Active Roster, but any players that are in this pool but aren't in the Active Roster are considered Mercenaries. Player Pools are useful to show previous team members, but you can be on more than one Player Pool per season. You can be on a maximum of three team's Player Pools at a time. While in a Player Pool, you can be more conveniently transferred onto another team's active roster, and acts as a way to manage players.

Active Roster - The Active Roster is where your core or substitute players are found. Players on this part of the team are eligible to play all league matches.
