AU/NZ Highlander - Season 9



General Info

Before we get started, we’d just like to welcome everybody back, and thank you for returning for this season! We hope you have all enjoyed the small season break, and are ready for another season of Highlander. Respawn would also like to take this chance to thank everyone who has participated in our league thus far, without the support of this incredible community we wouldn't be able to do this. As always, if you've been around a while or are completely new to Competitive TF2, we've got you covered.

This region will feature two divisions, Premier and Main. The Round Robin System will be used for our Regular Season for Premier, with the Swiss System being used for Main. The Playoffs season will be conducted using the Page Playoffs system for both Premier and Main.

The Regular Season will feature two maps per week yet again, continuing our 9 map pool. This will mean you see more of the maps you like, and less of the ones you don't. However, from this season onwards we are moving playoffs only back to the "ABBA" system, more info on this can be found in our recent news post here - essentially Payload/Stopwatch formats will be a Best of 3 Halves scenario, meaning one team will need to win Two Halves to win.

Please remember that you NEED to be recording POV demos, and holding onto those POV demos for at least 3 months after the season. Failure to present the requested POV/s upon request by an administrator will result in a 6-month ban.

Much of the feedback provided to us via last season's poll has been taken into consideration and much of it implemented in some form. We hope our news post on the overall league changes has clarified how we approach feedback and poll data when approaching a season and why we felt we needed to run an experimental season and how it will change things going forward.

Upward Pro will be returning to default Upward and Prowater will be changed to a new pro-orientated version of Badwater if it is ready in time for this season otherwise we will be running Badwater pro v12.

We are also trying out a new system of drafts for seedings, giving time for teams to see where they will be seeded, allowing better communication between admins in relation to team placements. There will be a short time after signups close for a captain to contact an admin to discuss their individual seeding. The draft period is from when signups close to season start.
